Releasing her first track in two years, SAYAH has absolutely delivered on her signature ‘confessional pop tracks that make your mum blush‘. Fruit is a little bit of a ‘f** you‘ (…and a little bit of a ‘f*** me‘ too) that battles both sides of the seduction coin. Wrapped up in an exciting and catchy tune, SAYAH has confidently declared her return and set the bar high for her future.

SAYAH’s latest track Fruit is the ultimate in slinky and catchy pop tunes. With a ’90s dance floor pop vibe, SAYAH’s vocals throw back to the young and energetic R&B style of the likes of Christina Milian while also unmistakably capturing the modern upbeat style of Dua Lipa. Harnessing her jazz vocal training, her voice showcases her ability bend against the norm in the pop arena.

Co-written by Keppie Coutts, Fruit is a totally unexpected package as the the chorus takes a turn to deliver an addictive hook that will stay in your head all day long. With a breathless and barely-there ‘f- you‘ and a side serving of the cheeky ‘all I wanna do is that taste fruit‘ – it’s excitement and sass in equal measure.

Sinking deeper into the lyrics, SAYAH has captured the fun in frustration. It’s a slow tease. There’s no desperate longing or brutal emotional toll. It’s just a purely physical allure towards the person you don’t want to be thinking about when you’re trying to get your rocks off with another.

When you’ve got an insane connection with someone but you know they’re not good for you, so you try everything to move on including seeing new people.. But no matter what, they’re always on your mind and it’s so freaking annoying!!! At the same time, you also kinda love it.. Ughhh the confusion!!

Coming up in 2021, SAYAH is touring with Cosmo’s Midnight as their feature vocalist and also headlining WOMEN IN POP LIVE at Oxford Art Factory in May. See the details in our GIG GUIDE.
