Muso, a free artist/DJ booking platform founded in 2018 by Jeremiah Siemianow, Brandon Crimmins and Alan Jin, is coming to the post-lock down rescue. Introducing The Rise of the Pub Gig Tour, the team at Muso will be helping venues connect with artists and funding a whopping 500 gigs across 100 venues (with 5 gigs per venue).
Supported by Creative Victoria, The City of Sydney and the Australian Government’s RISE Fund, a national investment in the reactivation of Australia’s arts and entertainment sector, Muso is calling on all artists and venues eager get live music back up and running (and the beers pouring) to sign up and join the tour.
Speaking of the tour, Muso co-founder Alan Jin said: “The pub has long lived within the heart and soul of Australian live music. Many of Australia’s legacy acts cut their teeth in sweaty band rooms, performing to local crowds across the country as they gained loyal followers along the way.
“Often loud, experiential and raw, these performances went down multiple nights a week, providing a crucial incubator experience for artists and their communities. These events shaped what has become Australia’s vibrant and thriving music scene.
“Of course, COVID has had a devastating impact on the live music experience. The industry is broken and hurting. Musicians, venues and patrons alike are hungry for performances to come back in intimate and high frequency settings.
“The Rise of the Pub Gig tour will give venues the confidence they need to kickstart their original live music experiences by removing the risk of cost and promotion. Our hope is that it enables great talent to be heard once again, bringing people together in safe but enjoyable ways.
“It’s about igniting the spark that will get music back to normal across the country, as well as creating jobs for both artists and venues.”
